The U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission will be holding a public field investigation on January 30, 2004, in Columbia, South Carolina to assess China’s Impact on the U.S. Manufacturing Base. The investigation will examine first-hand how the U.S.-China economic and trade relationship is impacting the industrial base of South Carolina.

This event will be broadcast live via the Internet on the Commission’s website at www.uscc.gov. The Internet broadcast begins at 9:30 am

The event will be kicked-off by Senators Ernest F. Hollings (D-SC) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC). After hearing industry and labor perspectives, the day will conclude with a discussion on the community impact of economic dislocations and an open microphone session where interested members of the public can voice their views. 

South Carolina Educational Television (ETV) is providing the broadcast and web stream for this hearing. ETV is South Carolina's statewide public broadcasting network with 11 television stations, 8 radio stations and a closed-circuit educational telecommunications system in more than 2,000 schools, colleges, businesses and government agencies.
