U.S.-China Economic And Security Review Commission Will Hold Its Second Public Hearing For 2008 On “China’s Views Of Sovereignty And Methods Of Access Control”

The U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission will conduct a public hearing on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 on “China's Views of Sovereignty and Methods of Access Control.”
The hearing is being conducted to obtain testimony about how China views sovereignty as well as the tools it might use to extend that sovereignty or restrict others from impinging on it.
Among those scheduled to testify are: Dr. Allen Carlson, Professor of Political Sciences at Cornell University, Dr. June Teufel Dreyer, Professor of Political Sciences at the University of Miami’s School of Business Administration, Dr. Robert G. Sutter, Professor of Asian Studies at Georgetown University, Dr. Peter Dutton, Esquire and Associate Professor of Strategic Studies at the Naval War College, LTC (retired) Roy D. Kamphausen, Vice President of Political and Security Affairs at the National Bureau of Asian Research, Mr. Philip A. Meek, Esquire and Associate General Counsel of International Affairs, U.S. Air Force General Counsel’s Office, and Mr. James A. Lewis, Senior Fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. A copy of the full agenda is attached.
