UPDATED INFORMATION AND AGENDA

The U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission will conduct a public hearing on Thursday, February 7, 2008 on The Implications of Sovereign Wealth Fund Investments for National Security.”

The hearing is being conducted to obtain testimony about how China is using its Sovereign Wealth Fund and how its use by China to make investments in the United States may affect U.S. economic and national security.

Members of Congress testifying include Senator Sherrod Brown and Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur of Ohio.  Deputy Assistant Secretary Robert Dohner of the U.S. Treasury Department, Ms. Linda Thomsen, Director of the Division of Enforcement, of the Securities and Exchange Commission, and scholars and experts from universities, business and industry will also testify.  A copy of the full agenda is attached.
