James Bacchus is one of two Chairs of the Global Practice Group and Chairman of the Global Trade & Investment Practice Group of Greenberg Traurig, LLP. Mr. Bacchus has been with Greenberg Traurig for 12 years and has been practicing law for almost 30 years. He is a leader in the firm’s overall worldwide practice, with an emphasis on policies, remedies, negotiations, disputes, and arbitrations relating to international trade and investment issues. In particular, he offers legal, political, and strategic advice to worldwide clients based on his unique experience with the many issues relating to the global rules for trade and commerce of the World Trade Organization. Mr. Bacchus is the author of the book Trade and Freedom. He is a former Member, for eight years, and Chairman, for two terms, of the Appellate Body of the World Trade Organization (WTO); former Member of the Congress of the United States, from Florida; and a former Special Assistant to the United States Trade Representative in the Executive Office of the President.
