Mr. Owen E. Herrnstadt
Director of Trade and Globalization, International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, Upper Marlboro, MD
                 
Owen Herrnstadt has held various positions at the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM), AFL-CIO. His present position is Director of the Department of Trade and Globalization, where he develops policy for international trade, economic investment, international labor standards, and human rights matters. Previously, he held the position of Associate General Counsel. Professor Herrnstadt was associate attorney at Popham, Haik, Schnobrich, Kaufman & Doty in Minneapolis. He has also served as an adjunct professor at the Washington College of Law, The American University and at Hamline University School of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota. Professor Herrnstadt has researched, published, and lectured on various areas of labor law, trade, human rights, globalization and corporate social responsibility. He is a member of various federal advisory committees, and the Council on Foreign Relations, as well as other organizations.
