Paul D. Vargovich Sr. was born on September 8th, 1952 in Buffalo, NY. He started as a junior engineer in 1975 and was responsible for two product lines (electrical contactors and high pressure valves) which eventually evolved into what is now National Manufacturing and Distribution, Inc. (NM&D). Mr. Vargovich founded National Manufacturing & Distribution, Inc. in 1980 which designs, develops, and manufactures electrical and electronic components and serves the electrical utility and large industries.
In 1997 Mr. Vargovich established National Solar Technologies (NST), a division of NM&D, with the acquisition of the renewable energy division of Ontario Hydro Technologies (OHT), a Canadian government owned Research & Development organization. Mr. Vargovich enhanced the original technology provided by OHT becoming a world-wide distributor for NST’s manufactured products. NST started in the renewable energy business as a manufacturer, developer and integrator of solar and wind power systems and commercial solar powered lighting systems. Notable customers include: The US Military, US Dept. of State, Ontario Nuclear Power Division, US Treasury Dept., Social Security Administration, and US Immigration and Naturalization. Mr. Vargovich’s expertise in solar technology has enabled NST’s participation in projects around the United States, Iraq, Afghanistan, Haiti and Africa.
