Mr. Peter G. Robinson
Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, University of Rochester Medical Center and Strong Health


Peter G. Robinson joined the University of Rochester Medical Center in 1988 as Director, Strategic Planning and Marketing. In 1991 he was appointed the Associate Vice President for Health Affairs. Effective December 1, 1997, he was appointed Medical Center Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. In addition, on August 26, 1998 he was appointed Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Strong Health. In these capacities he coordinates all administrative/management functions assigned to the Medical Center and the Strong Health Chief Executive Officer. He previously served as Associate Executive Director of Bellevue Hospital Center in New York City and as Director of Ambulatory Care at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. He has also been a health care management consultant for government and the private sector.
Mr. Robinson is the President of High Technology of Rochester, Inc. (HTR), and serves on the boards of the Center for Governmental Research (CGR), Visiting Nurse Service of Rochester, United Way of Greater Rochester and the Rochester Health Commission. He is a member of the Elder Abuse Consortium of Lifespan and the Community Advisory Board of the Junior League of Rochester, Inc. He has completed terms on the boards of the Al Sigl Center, Community Technology Assessment Advisory Board and the Rochester Healthcare Information Group, Inc. For the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) he served on the Government Relations Representative Steering Committee and is past Chairman of the Group on Institutional Planning.


He earned his bachelor’s degree from the City College of New York and master’s degrees from the New School for Social Research and the Columbia University School of Public Health. For thirty years Mr. Robinson served as an officer in the New York Army National Guard and retired in 2002 holding the rank of Colonel.
