Mr. Fred Vellucci
China Analyst, CNA Corporation
Fred Vellucci holds an M.A. in Asian Studies from the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University, a B.A. in History from the University at Buffalo, and is currently pursuing his J.D. at the American University Washington College of Law. He has studied Mandarin Chinese at the Beijing Institute of Technology, Capital Normal University in Beijing, and at the Hopkins-Nanjing Center for Chinese and American Studies in Nanjing, China. At CNA, Mr. Vellucci’s research has focused on personnel issues in the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA), the PLA Navy’s evolving strategy and global outlook and Chinese internal security issues. Mr. Vellucci’s current research interests include maritime competition in East Asia and U.S.-China relations.
