Julia Nanay is a Senior Director in PFC Energy's Country Strategies practice. Julia heads the firm's Russia and Caspian Service, where she provides clients with risk analyses for investments in the oil and gas industry concentrating on Russia and the Caspian region. Julia works closely with clients on identifying the political, economic and oil and gas sector risks in countries from the ground-up, with in-depth contacts inside many of the countries she works on. She focuses on the oil and gas sectors of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Ukraine and Uzbekistan. Advisory clients include a broad range of international and national oil companies, government agencies and ministries.
Julia has analyzed the Russia and Caspian region for the past decade and a half, traveling frequently to the countries and developing an extensive network of contacts. She speaks at a wide array of conferences, and has published numerous articles, and authored the Russia and Caspian Sea Region chapter of the just released book "Energy & Security, Toward a New Foreign Policy Strategy".
Before joining PFC Energy, Julia was a Vice President of The Charter Oil Company, a Jacksonville-based refining/marketing concern, heading their Washington office. Previous to that, she was the Executive Assistant to the Vice President for International, of Northeast Petroleum Industries, Inc., a Boston-based independent marketer.
She received a B.A. from the University of California at Los Angeles and an M.A.L.D. from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
