Matthew Fass
President, Maritime Products International
Matthew Fass is the president of Maritime Products International (“MPI”), a family owned and operated company with a legacy of over 100 years in the seafood industry. The focus of MPI is direct import and distribution of globally produced frozen seafood to foodservice, retail and processor accounts across the United States. MPI handles a variety of species of both fish and shellfish, wild caught and aquaculture, and with experience in virtually ever major seafood producing area of the world. Particular areas of geographic focus include China, Vietnam, South America and South Africa. MPI also has a long history of work with U.S. fisheries and remains involved with distribution and export utilizing domestic production. Mr. Fass is involved with numerous industry associations including the National Fisheries Institute (currently serving on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors), the Global Aquaculture Alliance and the Virginia Marine Products Board (past Chairman, current Board member). Mr. Fass received his B.S. (Finance – 1990) from the University of Virginia and his J.D. (1993) from the University of Virginia School of Law.
