PETER C.Y. CHOW
Dr. Peter Chow is a Professor of Economics and Program Coordinator of the Master’s Degree program in Management Economics at the City University of New York. Dr. Chow was a consultant at The World Bank (1997-1998) and a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (1991-1993). He has also taught at Stanford University, where he was a Visiting Scholar at the Hoover Institution, at Southeastern Louisiana University and Berry College.
Dr. Chow specializes in the areas of economic development, international economics and quantitative methods. He has published several books including Taiwan’s Modernization in Global Perspective (2002), Taiwan in Global Economy (2002), and the forthcoming Weathering the Storm: Taiwan, Its Neighbors, and the Asian Financial Crisis co-edited with Dr. Bates Gill (participating in Panel I). In addition to the dozens of articles Dr. Chow has published, he has presented more than 150 papers at academic institutions and professional conferences.
Dr. Chow received a B.A. from National Taiwan University and his M.S. and Ph.D. from Southern Illinois University.
