Mr. Dong Tao is the chief economist for non-Japan Asia at CSFB. He covers the Asia region as well as China, Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Prior to joining CSFB in February 1998, he was with Schroders Securities Asia for four years as Senior Regional Economist and Head of China research.

Mr. Tao has numerous academic working papers and contribution articles to international magazines and newspapers. He has been ranked by the Institutional Investor over the past four years, and many other international surveys.

Mr. Tao has a Ph.D. and a M.Sc. from the University of Utah and B.A. from Beijing Foreign Language University. He worked in China, the US and Japan. He has been based in Hong Kong since 1994.
