David Asher

David Asher is an adjunct scholar at the Institute for Defense Analyses. Previously, he was a senior adviser for the U.S. state department on East Asian affairs, and coordinator of the Bush Administration’s North Korea Working Group. He is an expert on U.S.-Japanese relations, international economics, Asian security, and the Japanese economy. David has performed research for the U.S. House of Representatives, The Secretary of Defense, and the U.S. Department of Defense Analysis. Mr. Asher has been widely published in everything from the Wall Street Journal to the New York Times.
