Vickie A. Tillman has been Executive Vice President of Standard & Poor’s since May 1999.   Standard & Poor’s, a Division of The McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc., is the preeminent provider of objective financial information, ratings and risk analysis to the global financial community.


Vickie leads Standard & Poor’s Ratings Service – the world’s leading ratings service, and provider of credit risk solutions.  Prior to assuming her current position, Vickie was Executive Managing Director of Structured Finance Ratings, a position to which she was appointed in 1994.  She had worldwide operational and financial responsibility and directed rating activity for all structured finance ratings services.  Vickie is a member of Standard & Poor’s Executive Committee. 


Vickie joined Standard & Poor’s in 1977 as a municipal analyst, and has had analytical and managerial responsibilities in all phases of credit analysis and criteria development.  She has led the municipal utilities and revenue bonds groups, co-managed the Public Finance Department, and was ultimately named Executive Managing Director of Public Finance in 1988.


During her tenure as head of Public Finance and Structured Finance, Vickie managed a period of rapid growth for the departments.  Offices in San Francisco, Boston and Chicago were opened and two publications, Standard & Poor’s CreditWeek Municipal and Structured Finance Monthly were launched.
Since taking the leadership of Credit Market Services, Vickie has repositioned the business to offer credit risk solutions products and services globally by launching the risk solutions business in 2001.  In addition, Standard & Poor’s expanded the global ratings network in Canada, Italy and Korea.


Vickie holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications and a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Pittsburgh.


Vickie is a member of the board of CRISIL LTD., India’s leading bond rating agency; the Advisory Board of the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs; and is the Executive Sponsor for Standard & Poor’s Diversity Council.
