Rear Admiral Michael McDevitt (USN-Ret.) is the Director of the Center for Strategic Studies for the CNA Corporation. He has a strong political-military historical background, especially on the subject of East Asia. He was the Director of the East Asia Policy Office for the Secretary of Defense during the first Bush administration. A surface warfare officer, he had command of a minesweeper, a destroyer, a destroyer squadron, and a aircraft carrier battle group. He can address a broad range of topics. Recently he spoke on Operation Enduring Freedom to an NROTC unit at the University of Southern California. He resides in Northern Virginia.
