Dr. John Calabrese
Book Review Editor
The Middle East Journal
Dr. John Calabrese teaches U.S. Foreign Policy at American University and serves as book review editor of The Middle East Journal. He is the author of China's Changing Relations with the Middle East (1990) and numerous articles, including "Dragon by the Tail: China's Energy Quandary."
Past experience includes teaching at the Washington Semester Program for American University, and serving as a Scholar-in-Residence at the Middle East Institute. He is the author of several articles including The Future of Iraq (1997), Gulf-Asia Energy Security (1999). Additionally, he has authored several works regarding China’s relationships with the Middle East, including China's Changing Relations with the Middle East (1990) and "Dragon by the Tail: China's Energy Quandary."
John Calabrese received a B.A. from Georgetown Univeristy, a Diplomacy from the London School of Economics, and a Ph.D. from the London School of Economics in 1990. His areas of expertise include Central Asia and the Caucasus, Iran, Asian Middle East Policy, Energy, and European Middle East Policy.
