David Hartquist

Skip Hartquist is a Member of the law firm Collier Shannon Scott and serves as Chairman of the firm's International Trade and Customs Practice Group. He also is the Managing Partner of the firm's economic consulting subsidiary, Georgetown Economic Services. He concentrates his practice in international trade law, and also represents clients before the White House, numerous Executive Branch departments and agencies, regulatory agencies and the Congress. Mr. Hartquist's clients include Allegheny Technologies Incorporated, AK Steel Corporation, Carpenter Technology, the China Currency Coalition, the Copper and Brass Fabricators Council, Olin Corporation, the Specialty Steel Industry of North America and the Valve Manufacturers Association.

Before joining Collier Shannon in 1976, Mr. Hartquist worked for President Ford as General Counsel of the White House Council on International Economic Policy. In that capacity, he worked on a wide range of international economic issues, including trade, finance, energy and agriculture. In 1973 and 1974, Mr. Hartquist was Assistant to the President, Overseas Private Investment Corporation. OPIC is an agency of the United States government that provides political risk insurance to private U.S. corporations that invest in developing countries. From 1970 to 1973, Mr. Hartquist was Legislative Assistant to United States Senator Richard S. Schweiker (R-PA). He had general responsibility for legislative staff in the Senator's office. Mr. Hartquist began his legal career as Assistant Counsel to Bank of America in Los Angeles, and as Assistant Washington Representative in Washington, D.C.

Additionally, Mr. Hartquist has been recognized as a leading international trade lawyer by "Who's Who Legal," Lawdragons 500-"The Leading Lawyers in America," and Chambers Global -"Leaders in Their Field."
