Mr. Jerry Clifford
Deputy Assistant Administrator for International Affairs, EPA

 

Jerry Clifford has been Deputy Assistant Administrator for International Affairs of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) since 2001. In that capacity, he serves as U.S. National Coordinator for the U.S.-Mexico border program and as a member of the Board of the North American Development Bank (NADBank) and the Border Environment Cooperation Commission (BECC). He also led EPA preparations for the recent World Summit on Sustainable Development.

 

With over 25 years of experience at EPA, Jerry has held a variety of important positions addressing a broad range of environmental issues. He spent 5 years as Deputy Regional Administrator in EPA's Dallas office, which is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal environmental regulations in Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. Prior to that, he led the EPA effort to reauthorize the Superfund program and also spearheaded efforts to institute smog check programs in California and Nevada.
