MR. GARY RIESCHEL Co-Executive Managing Director, Mobius Venture Capital Gary Rieschel is co-executive managing director for Mobius Venture Capital. He founded the firm (then SOFTBANK Venture Capital) in January 1996 after a 15-year career in the technology industry. Under his leadership the firm has grown significantly. Mobius Venture Capital currently has approximately $2.25 billion under management and has been involved with a portfolio of over 100 leading technology companies. During his tenure at Mobius Venture Capital and SOFTBANK Venture Capital, he sponsored investments in such notable companies as E*Trade, UTStarcom, Concentric Networks, Verisign, USWeb, Netmind/Proxinet (Puma Technology), Critical Path, Net2Phone, Digimarc, and InterTrust Technologies. Mr. Rieschel currently serves on the board of several private companies including Atreus Systems, Comergent, Hey Anita, Infinera, Salira Networks, Terabeam and Visage Mobile. He is an advisor to Arrowpath Capital, Ignition Partners, Grandbanks Capital and the SOFTBANK Asia Infrastructure Fund. Prior to founding Mobius Venture Capital, Mr. Rieschel led Cisco Systems' worldwide sales channel strategy. Prior to joining Cisco Systems, he was general manager and business unit manager at Sequent Computer Systems. While at Sequent, Mr. Rieschel lived in Tokyo, Japan for 4.5 years and was also the head of the American Electronics Association Industry Committee. He began his career as an executive in manufacturing at Intel. Mr. Rieschel earned a B.A. in Biology from Reed College and a M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. He currently serves on the board of trustees of Reed College in Portland, Oregon. |
