As a Foreign Service Officer and Professor he has written, lectured and recommended policies and programs to address a variety of national security issues, including U.S. relations with Southeast Asia, the Islamic revival in Asia, and radicalism and terrorism. The bulk of his Foreign Service assignments and responsibilities spanned the arc from the Middle East to Southeast Asia. In the past three years, he has renewed his focus on Islamic radicalism and counter-terrorism. Project Experience As a new member of the Project Asia team, Bronson Percival has worked on maritime security in Southeast Asia and is writing a book on China, Southeast Asia and U.S. policy. Selected Publications and Reports While the counter-terrorism coordinator for the East Asia Bureau of the Department of State, Mr. Percival lectured on Islamic extremism and terrorism at several conferences and universities, including the 2003 Pacific Symposium and 2004 West Point Conferences on security in Asia.
