President Mr. Schlect has worked for the NHC since 1980. A graduate of both Washington State University and the Gonzaga School of Law, he has been a member of the Washington State Bar Association since 1977. Industry boards and committees: Farm Foundation (Bennett Round Table/Steering Committee); United Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Association (Allied Association Council); National Council of Agricultural Employers (Executive Committee); U.S. Apple Association (Public Affairs Committee); Minor Crop Farmer Alliance (chairman); Crop Protection Coalition (Board of Directors); Washington State China Relations Council (Board of Directors); Coalition to Promote U.S. Agricultural Exports (chairman); Tree-Fruit Technical Advisory Council (secretary); Washington Apple Education Foundation (Board of Directors); Agricultural Policy Advisory Committee (APAC); and National Endangered Species Act Reform Coalition (vice chairman).
