Dave McCall

David McCall is the Director of United Steelworkers of America’s District 1, which covers Ohio. He began his union career with USWA Local 6787 at Bethlehem Steel’s Burns Harbor Plant in 1970. He held various positions at Local 6787 before being appointed to the USWA International Staff in 1986. Dave also served as a Sub-District Director and Assistant Director for USWA District 7. Dave was appointed by the International Executive Board as the District 1 Director in January, 1999. He was elected as the Director of District 1 in November, 2001. He is the Chairman of the Union’s negotiating committees for Republic Engineered Products (REP), AK-Mansfield, International Steel Group (ISG), Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Timken, WCI Steel and Ormet Aluminum.
